Document Conversion

When you need to revise an index that exists only in printed form, or as a formatted document produced by a word processing program or typesetting system, use our conversion service to have it transformed into index entries that you can import directly into an index that you prepare with CINDEX™ or another indexing program.

If your index exists only as a printed document we can scan it and provide you with index records that you can import into indexes you create with your indexing program. We can scan indexes printed in a variety of formats (including multi-column) in type sizes as small as 8 point (sometimes smaller).

We offer fast and economical service. If you have a conversion problem, call us. You'll be surprised how easily it can be solved!

Charges
For converting formatted indexes contained in computer files (ASCII text documents or in documents produced by popular word processors), we charge $40.00 per file plus 1¢ per entry. There is a minimum charge of $50.00. For rush jobs (turnaround in 48 hours or less) we charge an additional $50. If files require editing before conversion there can be additional charges. We are pleased to provide quotations. Call us for further information.

For scanning and converting printed documents the charge depends on the complexity and layout of the index entries. We usually need to examine a sample before we can provide a quotation. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
